Nulgath makes everyone else do the work and you get to do it for Lae instead. Must be level 95 to finish this questline, and you need Lae's Hardcore Contract before anything else.

”In the Fiend's Shadow”

This is the only quest that gives you Void Soul in any meaningful amount (10x per turn in), and you are going to need 150 of them in total. We will get to the maths later, just know you will be doing this one a lot.

You also get to pick a Hollowborn Void weapon or helm, take whichever you like.

”Fiend's Purgatory”

You only need to do this once, it gives 1 Void Soul which is nothing compared to the first quest. The annoying part is the 7 Nulgath items you need in your inventory, so if you have been doing Nulgath stuff for a while you probably have most of these already. Refer to the Nulgath Guide for the mats.

The reward is a Hollowborn version of one of the Nulgath weapons, with a random chance at a Hollowborn Makai pet.

”Muddled Past”

Hollowborn Oblivion Blade

You get this from Lae in /tercessuinotlim, and the easy way is ”Trading and Stuff (Dual)” or ”Trading and Stuff (Single)” if you own the Oblivion Blade of Nulgath already.

If you do not own either Oblivion Blade then the full ”Trading and Stuff” quest is a lot worse (500 Diamonds, 1000 Archfiend's Favor, 50 Blood Gems and 350 Fresh Souls to name a few), so just get the blade. See the Whale section of the Nulgath Guide.

”Tug and Pull”

This is the one that gives you the shiny armour and the badge. Insignia are basically the currency for all of this, so farm those if you want to skip the grind.

”Roles Unreversed”

This one is optional, it is only for the extra cosmetics (Hood, Horns, Skull, dual weapons, pets, Void Orb etc) and gives no armour.

Void Soul maths

You need 150 Void Souls in total (50 for ”Muddled Past”, 100 for ”Tug and Pull”) and they only come from two quests:

Since ”Fiend's Purgatory” is a pain to do, the easiest way is to do it once and spam ”In the Fiend's Shadow” for the rest. The order that works out perfectly is:

  1. Do ”In the Fiend's Shadow” 5 times (50 Void Souls)
  2. Do ”Fiend's Purgatory” once (51 Void Souls)
  3. Do ”Muddled Past” (1 Void Soul left)
  4. Do ”In the Fiend's Shadow” 10 more times (101 Void Souls)
  5. Do ”Tug and Pull”

So ”In the Fiend's Shadow” is done 15 times in total.
